
Stop Paying for the Brand Name on Your Heat Lamps
When you’re trying to keep livestock warm, you don’t want to waste money heating up the air in a drafty barn. You want the heat to go straight to the animals. That’s why we stick with shortwave infrared. It’s direct. It’s efficient. And honestly? Most of those “premium” brands you see are just charging you extra for a fancy logo. The physics are the same regardless of the name on the box. We just cut out the middleman and ship them straight from the factory to you.
The Nitty-Gritty
We use high-purity quartz glass for these. Why? Because these lamps cycle on and off constantly, and cheap glass will just crack under that kind of stress. One thing to keep in mind: wattage matters. You have to match the lamp to the animal’s needs and how cold your barn actually gets. But the real killer is your voltage. If your wiring is shaky or inconsistent, you’re going to fry the filament way sooner than you should. Keep it steady.
How They’re Built
We use R7s or Sk15 connectors. We did this on purpose so you can just pop these into your existing housings and get back to work. Inside, there’s a tungsten filament in a halogen-filled tube. The halogen does a clever little trick—it stops the tungsten from gunking up the inside of the glass. This keeps the light clear and the heat steady for a lot longer. Some of our tubes even have a special coating to push the heat exactly where you need it most.
A Few Heads-Ups
High-wattage lamps put out a massive amount of heat. It works fast, but that quartz getsscorching hot. Please, double-check your mounting brackets and safety guards. If you don’t have decent ventilation around the socket, you risk melting your wiring. We always suggest using high-temp ceramic sockets to stay safe. At the end of the day, you’re getting the same quartz and tungsten as the big-name brands. You just aren’t paying the “brand tax” to get it.
