We add a halogen gas cycle in there to stop the filament from evaporating. Why? Because it keeps the heat steady. You won’t see your output dip just because the lamp has been running for a while. The power side of things 800W is a bit of a sweet spot for medium-duty loads. But here’s the thing: you’ve got to make sure your voltage matches your power supply. If you don’t, you’ll fry the filament the second you flip the switch. These things ramp up fast. Really fast. But that heat is intense. If you jam these into a tight space without any airflow, you’re asking for trouble. You’ll end up warping your reflectors or, worse, melting your wiring.Give them room to breathe. The build and the fit We use high-purity quartz because it lets shortwave infrared radiation pass right through without soaking it up. Plus, it’s tough. It won’t crack the moment the temperature spikes. Depending on what you’re running, we can fit these with R7s or SK15 connectors. They’re basically drop-in replacements for most PET blowing or shrink-wrap tunnels. We make sure the fit is snug, too. In a high-vibration shop, a loose connection leads to arcing—and arcing is just a fancy way of saying your lamp is about to fail. Putting them to work You’ll mostly see these in PET bottle blowing or plastic film shrinking. The 800W output is great because it hits that glass transition temperature quickly without scorching the plastic. It’s a delicate balance, and this power level usually nails it. Just remember that shortwave heat hits the surface first. If you’re working with a thicker part, you might need to slow down your conveyor or tweak the spacing between the tubes to make sure the heat actually reaches the core.
