Basically, it keeps the filament temperature steady so the tungsten doesn’t just evaporate and vanish. It’s the secret to making sure the lamp doesn’t burn out the moment you put it to work. Why 440V? It comes down to the industrial grid. By running at 440V, we can push 2000W through a 355mm length without blowing a fuse or overloading your control panel. You get this concentrated blast of heat that hits your material almost instantly. If you’re in a spot where you can’t afford a slow warm-up, this is exactly what you need. The tech behind the glow Short wave radiation is different. It actually sinks deeper into plastics and coatings than the medium or long wave stuff. To handle that kind of internal heat, we use high-purity quartz. The halogen gas does the heavy lifting here, recycling the tungsten back onto the filament to stretch out the life of the lamp. But here is the catch:**keep the tube clean.**I mean really clean. One fingerprint or a smudge of oil on that quartz creates a hot spot, and the tube will pop. Just like that. Getting it in the field You’ll probably be dropping these into PET blowing machines or drying tunnels. The 355mm size is great because it lets you pack your heater banks tight. One thing to watch out for: these lamps dump a crazy amount of energy into a small space. Your reflectors have to be spot on. If they’re dirty or warped, you’re basically throwing 30% of your heat into the air. And a quick heads-up—2000W in a frame this small gets hot. Really hot. Just double-check that your housing can handle the thermal load so you don’t end up melting your wiring.
